Oxford University students this morning made their way home from Magdalen College’s prestigious Commemoration Ball.
Students in ball gowns and white tie dress suits walked and cycled through the streets of Oxford following a night of ‘revelry’ at the 565-year-old college.
The £235 a ticket Narnia themed event was held last night in the grounds of Magdalen College.
The event was described as a ‘night of woodland revelry’ in which students were invited to ‘don’ their ‘finest white tie’ outfits and ‘step through’ the wardrobe.
Today, students were seen trudging through Oxford’s historic streets on their way back from the event that ended at 5am this morning.
The event was held in the grounds of the 565-year-old Oxford University college
The commemoration ball last night was the first time Magdalen College has held such an event in seven years
Students were invited to ‘don’ their ‘finest white tie’ outfits to the prestigious event
The Commemoration Ball offered a ‘night of woodland revelry’ alongside an open bar
Students attending the event were given the opportunity to enjoy an open bar and an array of performances from live musicians in the ground’s of Magdalen College.
First founded in 1458, Magdalen College is now one of Oxford University’s 44 constituent colleges.
The grounds of the prestigious college, which lies next to the River Cherwell, include a deer park and a more than 500-year-old tower.
Commemoration balls are held by Oxford colleges in the final term of each academic year.
The commemoration ball last night was the first time Magdalen College has held such an event in seven years after it was forced to call off an event in 2019.
