Katie Boulter powers into Wimbledon’s third round, with boyfriend Alex de Minaur watching on from the stands after winning his own match, as she sees off Bulgaria’s Viktoriya Tomova
British number one Katie Boulter battled through to the third round at Wimbledon for the second successive year.
The 26-year-old from Leicester, Britain’s sole remaining representative in the women’s singles draw, beat Bulgaria’s Viktoriya Tomova 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 on Court 12.
Boulter, who has never made it past round three, could face reigning champion Elena Rybakina next.
Her boyfriend, Australian star Alex de Minaur, finally booked his place in the second round after constant rain delays forced him to wait until Day Four to finish his match.
But he was able to watch Boulter from the stands as she defeated Tomova in three sets.
